The recipient portal: payments to you
Updated
This page is for the people an organization pays through Payclose. If an organization invited you to the recipient portal, you can confirm the address you’re paid at with a signature from your own wallet, change it the same way, and see what was paid to you.
Payclose never holds funds or keys. Payments go from the organization’s wallet straight to yours, and the signatures here prove which wallet is yours; they move no funds and cost nothing.
The invitation email comes from Payclose and names the organization. Its sign-in link works for 7 days, and the first time you use it, it links your account to your record with that organization. If it expires first, ask the organization to send the invitation again. After that, sign in at run.payclose.app with the same email address: Payclose emails you a sign-in link, and there’s no password.
If the organization has another email address on file for you, or your record is already linked to another account, the link signs you in without linking you, and the portal says “You are signed in, but the invitation was not linked to this account”. Ask the organization to invite the email you sign in with.
The portal is Payments to you. If you also work in Payclose for an organization, it’s in the menu under your name.
Your payout address
For each organization, Your payout address shows the address it pays on each network, with its state:
- Approved: payments go there.
- In use from a date: approved, and payments go there after the 24-hour pause.
- Awaiting approval by the organization: a new address someone proposed, not paid yet.
Confirm your address
An address you haven’t signed for says Not confirmed by you yet. Select Confirm, and Payclose asks your wallet for a signature:
- The wallet connects. It has to hold the account of that address; if it’s connected with another one, switch accounts in the wallet and try again.
- The wallet moves to the address’s network, such as Base.
- You sign a message that names the organization, you, the network and the address. “This signature proves you control this wallet. It moves no funds and costs nothing.”
The address then shows Confirmed by you on and the date, and the organization sees Confirmed by the recipient next to it. Some organizations approve a new address only after its recipient confirms it.
Change your address
Select Change address, paste the new address and select Sign with the new wallet:
- The new wallet signs: it shows the address is yours.
- The wallet paid now signs too: it shows the change comes from you, not from someone who got into your email. A wallet that holds both accounts signs both at once. Otherwise the portal says “Signed with the new wallet. Now switch the wallet to the account of” the current address, “then continue”: switch accounts and select Continue with the current wallet.
- The organization approves the new address before paying it; until then, payments go to the current one.
Once it’s sent, the new address shows Awaiting approval by the organization and Confirmed by you on the date. Without an address on file yet, select Add your address, choose the network, and only the new wallet signs. You can propose 3 addresses a day.
Your payments
Payments lists what the organization approved for you, newest first: the payout and its invoice, the amount and network, and the status:
- Approved: the payout is approved and not sent yet.
- Sent: the payment is on its way, and not matched on chain yet.
- Paid: the transfer to you is matched on chain. Paid on has the date, and Transaction links to it on the network’s block explorer.
If the organization sends receipts, you also get an email when a payout to you is reconciled.
When something goes wrong
- “The wallet is connected with” another account: switch to the account of the address in the wallet and try again.
- A Safe or another contract wallet can’t sign here yet. Ask the organization to change the address for you.
- “You closed the request in the wallet. Nothing was signed.” Select the button again when you’re ready.
- “No wallet extension was found in this browser.” Open the portal in the browser where your wallet is, such as MetaMask or Rabby.
- “The request expired: a signature is accepted for 10 minutes. Try again.”
- “The signature came from another account than” the address: choose that account in the wallet and try again.
- “You can propose 3 addresses a day. Try again tomorrow.”
